For the EWB Victoria Region Team, November is a time of reflection, celebration and controlled panic. Some of us are in recruitment mode aiming to get more people involved with EWB, while others are drawing to a close their projects and partnerships for 2011.
While some things are slowing down for a month, we are encouraging all members (and non-members who are on the picket fence...) to think about what they want out of EWB. There are so many diverse ways to get involved within our organisation, and so it just depends on what you're interested in, how you want to contribute, and how much you are willing to learn. But one thing is for certain – you will gain invaluable experience and have a lot of fun.
Below is a YouTube video of EWB in the spotlight and being praised on the ABC news. While we are proud to be recognised, we are grateful that these developing communities, and the role that engineers can play in society, are highlighted.

Opportunities at EWB are endless: there are local projects, such as SAIL and the Sages Water Farm; engineering education promotion, such as the High School Outreach program, and The EWB Challenge in the engineering faculties of Victoria's leading universities; and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives and collaboration; and so on. Whether you are interested in water and sanitation, power and energy, construction, or the environment - EWB has a place for you.
